I am thinking about the way we pluralize the word “savings” to indicate worth. The difference between saving someone and having a plenitude of savings. My farthings. My coins. A palindrome of worth. SavingS Daylight, we saved for the dawn. If we were accumulating daylight would it not make more sense to keep it for as long as possible, for the latest hour of the day, for the last human minute possible, before we break, to keep and hoard and add interest, be interesting for the future of us, the diurnal urge to be illuminated both by sunlight and by nightfall, when we are most likely to need each other. We wait, with salvations.
